SKAN Body Work
A powerful form of breath and body work in the Reichian tradition. Wilhelm Reich is known for many innovations and discoveries in the Natural Sciences and beyond. Many know his legacy of inventing Orgonite and his later work with Orgone Energy technology. But before all that, he was a pioneer in therapy and body work.
SKAN, the Lakota word for “that which moves,” is a natural evolution from Reich’s original therapeutic modality.
In SKAN, we use movement, breath, and body work, in the context of the unique relation of client and practitioner, to find and begin to safely take down the emotional armoring that we have built up in our bodies through our lifetimes and begin to find expression of emotions long held back. Once we can let go of this stress and tension and feel safe to let the energy once again flow its natural course through the body, we can start to experience the joy and ease of being that so many have lost and long to get back.
